I have spent over two decades as a fashion writer-editor, academic, and storyteller exploring the deep, often invisible connection between what we wear and who we are. From leading editorial teams at Femina (WorldWide media–Times of India and BBC Magazines), contributing to titles like The Hindu, Mint, and Lonely Planet, and to teaching the next generation of thinkers at institutions like NIFT, Pearl Academy, and Chitkara University, my career has been a journey of uncovering the ‘inner data’ behind our ‘external image’.
As a neurodivergent woman, a devoted yoga-meditation-Reiki practitioner, and a multi-hyphenated creator, I realised that modern fashion often misses the most important element: the person inside the clothes. I founded Revastra (Re = Again + Vastra = Clothing) to bridge the biological, psychological, and social aspects of our life transitions. Whether you are navigating a career shift, a body transition, or the ‘mirror gap’ (what you feel the mirror tells you) that comes with a new season of life, my work is to help you realign.
My fashion practice and philosophy is rooted in the belief that we must declutter emotionally (reduce, reuse, and recycle) before we can do so physically. In my book, The Art of Decluttering: Ancient Practices for Modern Living (Penguin Random House & Ebury Press, September 2025), I revive ancestral Indian lifestyle rituals to help us navigate this complexity of modern living.
I apply these same principles to my masterclasses, teaching you to use breath, posture, and ritual to turn the daily act of dressing into a practice of well-being. It could be knotting your sari without a petticoat and wearing it with a shirt without being a ‘maximalist’, wearing that kaftan with a brooch and a pair of boots without screaming ‘diva’, or learning ways to upcycle your heirloom saris without chopping them ruthlessly. And BTW, no, these sessions are not styling. They are a prequel and sequel to it.
Documenting life through line drawings (my alter ego is an artist and a sculptor).
Practicing and studying yoga-meditation (four courses are proof enough… and the wannabe-intellectual is on).
Mothering a lovely son (and trying to keep both of us sane in the process).
Squishing Aikko–an adorable black Persian cat (who survives the smothering every day).
